So I am sitting on my bed waiting for my dad to finish his NCAA football game so I can watch sportscenter a couple times then finally go to sleep. So my blog tonight will be about the two things I've been thinking about all the time. College Football and the Olympics.
I don't know why but for some reason I love the olympics...maybe cause I love sports maybe cause I love obsure sports like ping pong and badminton maybe cause its our country working together at something or maybe all of them. But I can't get enough of it. There is some boring ones like long distance cycling, diving, field hockey, boxing(just because they are wearing helmets and they use a weird scoring system), and trampoline. Trampoline is a joke....they jump like 20 feet in the air and do a backflip with a spin and then land it....I can do that.
Then there is college football. Georgia kicks off in 1 week, 12 hours, and 30 minutes. They play Georgia Southern. I've pretty much have every SEC game memorized and what week and everything. Its an addiction. I should probably be more interested in other stuff that is important.....ohh whatever what I am kidding....I live in Alabama. College football is important....what else is there to talk about. But the games to watch this week are USC Vs. Virgina...no Mark Sanchez for USC....maybe an upset....that would be awesome. Bama vs. Clemson. Played in the Georgia Dome....i think this should be a very good game much like the Auburn - Clemson bowl game last year....maybe even overtime but Alabama wins. Missouri vs Illinois should be a good game but I probably won't watch it...maybe flip through to see the score or something. And hopefully UCLA will beat Tenn. on Sunday.
But it should be an exciting year....and the obnoxious Georgia flags go up on my car after the game on Saturday....yeah. Thats how cool I am. But this week I just hope that no one else gets suspended or hurt and I will be happy. Thats it. But I think my blogs are letting people down. But I have nothing to talk about so I will try and think of something to talk about for my next blog.

Beijing 2008
The olympics this year is only half way over but they have been amazing so far. This is the first olympics that I've really cared about. I never watched Athens or Torino. And I'm so impressed with our athletes being in the running in almost every sport. And look at Michael Phelps....he is going to be the best olympian ever after tonite. He is amazing.....he is my new favorite athlete. But then you look gymnastics....it was the first time one country has ever gone 1 and 2 in women's individual gymastics. And then men's team got bronze without the Hamm's. And women's got second even though they sucked it up on floor and balance beam. Swimming....we dominate everyone. And even the people from other countries that win usually train in America....like Cristy Coventry trained at Auburn. So I think it is just crazy. Our basketball team should win....we won a rifling event. Track and field so far we are doing well. I think it is amazing how well they are representing our country. But then I did some research and we have always dominated. We have double the amount of gold medals over 2nd leading country and we also have over 2200 medals ever which is more than double the second leading country. So America dominates.
But only 1 week and 5 days till College football starts and 2 weeks until Georgia kicks off the season with Georgia Southern. I can't wait. It's going to be a good year. We are number 1 in coaches and the AP poll. So if you read my last blog on if they would pick the best team for number one and not base them off the strength of schedule....well they did. But it is going to be a good year.
And recently I got into a little debate with a couple of my friends on why there shouldn't be a playoff. If there was a playoff....there would be a shorter regular season. Well thats really unfair for the SEC because....we would have to drop 2 -3 easy non-conference games. And the SEC is the toughest conference....so the Big 10 and Big East would have a big advantage because they play easy games in their conference too so if they would be dropping tougher opponents like Big 12, Pac 10, or the occasional SEC team. Then if there was a playoff...teams would not play as hard. For example Georgia plays LSU the game before Florida. the LSU game is not as important as the Florida game is. So we would not even train for the LSU game and throw the game away and practice 2 weeks for florida to make sure we beat them. Because if we are undefeated in the east than we go to the championship....just as long as our west record is not awful. And the bowl system makes College football unique. And its football....if its too long. It puts injury at risk....practicing everyday....playing top teams every weak....and then in a playoff. You would be playing 1 of the top 8 teams....4 weeks in a row. Thats just too hard....these people go to school also. Academics is more important that athletics. So hopefully there will be no switch anytime soon.

School!
Well, School starts tomarrow! I can't believe it. I have gotten so used to not going to school and now its like....what I have to wake up tomarrow at 6:30. BLEH! I'm excited to see my friends though cause I take a break from my school friends during the summer. But not looking forward to being at school tomarrow and getting back on a routine. My normal school day is wake up at 6:30, leave home at 7:30, start school at 8, leave school at 3, then go to the golf course till about 5 or 6, then come home and do what ever. my summer schedule was wake up at 11, then eat whenever, then do whatever I wanted to. So its a big difference. But only 2 more years. But this summer was a lot different than any other summer ever. I think it was cause I could drive but I was always busy and I never really had that much time to sit and think. Maybe thats all I need to do is sit and think. For one day just sit and think about everything....try and figure stuff out. This is the hardest and most important year....junior year. I have to figure out what college I want to go to and what I want to do and all that good stuff.
But this year I am taking a current issues class as an elective and I am really excited about it cause now I have something to talk about with Jake and Jason.
