Gentlemen Only Ladies Forbidden

Gentlemen Only Ladies Forbidden - GOLF.

In the early days in Scotland, a couple of Scott's thought of the game GOLF to be played by gentlemen. Golf stands for gentlemen only ladies forbidden which is often forgotten nowadays, even by me. In the early days of the PGA, there were role models such as Bobby Jones, Arnold Palmer, Sam Snead, Ben Hogan, Walter Hagen, Jack Nicklaus, and Byron Nelson. These individuals respected the game, their fans, and their competitors. In today's game, the only person that resembles these people is Phil Mickelson. I've been to a few PGA tournaments and Phil will stay after his round and sign each and every thing people give him to sign. He will stay for hours signing and carrying on conversations with his fans. But Tiger Woods on the other hand will maybe sign 3 things and he will not even say a word to his fans. (By the way, I do not like Tiger if u didn't catch on. But I am not that much of a Phil fan....i like Sergio Garcia and Geoff Ogilvy.) But what bothers me the most is how Tiger will act on the course. Tiger will hit a drive that might find the rough and he will say a curse word. This really bothers me because all the kids and teens that look up to him as a role model probably think, "well if he curses when he plays maybe I should to." And that is not how it is supposed to be. I respect the fact that Tiger is amazing at Golf but he has no respect for it at all. And the PGA fines him every time he curses, they fine him between $10,000 - $20,000. But he is the first billionaire in sports, so him paying ten thousand is like me buying a coke from the gas station. It is stupid. Tiger is selfish. He doesn't appreciate how blessed he is to have this natural ability and to be able to be the best in the world. This was just on my mind because Tiger is now in the lead of the Nations National Championship and he is like 11-0 when winning going into the final round. But the way he acts is just not good for the development of the game.

I'm watching SportsCenter right now...but I watch it every night. And something just happened that gets on my nerves every time I hear it. There is an announcer named Scott Van Pelt who says a quote, "fill thine horn with oil, and GOOOO!" whenever a Philly hits a home run. I have no idea what the relevance is, if any, and the way he says it just gets under my skin for no reason and makes me wanna go into the TV and tell him to stop saying that. So if anyone knows the relevance....please tell me so I will not be so annoyed and I might actually understand.

I love golf. Unfortunately I haven't played in about 3 years and am now ashamed to go because of how much I will stink at it. I do have to say though that I have been a Tiger fan from way back in the beginning when he won at Stanford.
